Rio #1875 Restoration

Rio #1875 Restoration During 1998, we completed a major cosmetic restoration of one of our most popular cars, #1875. The green it wore previously has been replaced by a bright yellow and cream scheme, reminiscent of colors of Conestoga Traction Co. of Lancaster County, PA. In the spring of 1998, the car looked much different! Its new and unpainted dash (the curved front panel) lies to the right on the floor. In the lower left corner is the standard gauge truck being assembled to regauge PCC #2743. March, 1998 |

Fresh sand hoppers for 1875 March 27, 2004 Some time ago, a skilled volunteer carefully replicated four sand hoppers from Rio car #1875, which were in horrible condition. After spending some time "absorbing the ambience" of our shop, they have now been painted and are being installed in the car, as they should have been a long time ago. Oh, well. When you have a project list light-years long, not everything happens immediately! You could help shorten the project list! Learn how. March, 2004 |
