Johnstown #355 Restoration

April 6, 2006

With recent progress by the contract restoration shop, our Johnstown 355 is beginning to look distinctly trolley-like again.

The reconstructed sloping dash gleams as workers discuss progress on the car.

With its raccoon disguise removed, a trolley car at Lyons Industries in Ebensburg suddenly looks remarkably like a restored Johnstown trolley car. No doubt about it; JTC 355 will be the finest looking piece in our collection, and put several of our 'operating' cars to shame.

We hereby rescind previous comparisons to raccoons and skunks. It's now a sharp-looking trolley car.

Just kidding, although it sort of looks that way. In reality, exterior painting of Johnstown 355 is underway at the contractor, Lyons Industries of Ebensburg, bringing the car a substantial step closer to looking like a real, restored trolley car.

A side view shows the bright 'Omaha orange' which will adorn 355.

On Friday, June 23rd, 2006, our volunteers performed an official 'final inspection' of Johnstown 355 at the contractor's shop and approved its restoration.

Our President visited to examine Johnstown 355 and offered these interesting then vs. now shots.
