More about The East Broad Top Railroad

EBT RR ImageThe East Broad Top Railroad is the oldest 3 foot ("narrow") gauge railroad in the US and the only one east of the Mississippi still operating*** in its original location. It is truly a unique piece of Americana. The original shops where cars were built and serviced still stand.

Although we lease property from them, the Rockhill Trolley Museum is a separate entity from the East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company (EBT). We have an excellent relationship with EBT, and we are happily co-existing organizations.

While the EBT RR is a registered national historic landmark, the Rockhill Trolley Museum is not, but many of our trolleys are older than the East Broad Top's steam engines.

For information about the EBT, please call (814) 447-3011.

***EBT HAS SUSPENDED REGULARLY-SCHEDULED TOURIST EXCURSION OPERATIONS INDEFINITELY.

THE ROCKHILL TROLLEY MUSEUM CONTINUES TO OPERATE A FULL-SEASON SCHEDULE.

When the EBT begins summer tourist excursions begin again, please note that we do not cross-honor each others' tickets. We do, however, attempt to coordinate ride scheduling so visitors may conveniently experience both organizations' rides and exhibits.
